Yves has glasses on and thick braids in her hair. The background is black. She looks pensively off camera.

Hey y’all,

I’m Yves

a word wrangler. disciple of diction. prose princess. lover of language. a writer, podcaster, yoga teacher, and outdoor enthusiast.

Oh, and i don’t apologize for my body or my mind.

I have a compulsive need to write and a knack for telling stories about challenging social and cultural topics. I believe that our lives are improbable, imperfect, and important, and I let this conviction inform my work.

Yves, with her back to the camera, is seated on a canyon wearing a red jacket as she stares out at a grand vista of a canyon valley. The sky is a beautiful blue, and the surrounding canyons and shrubs are shades of red, green, yellow, and gray.

I’m not interested in having things figured out.

I’m interested in questioning, contemplating, and evolving. My favorite thing about people is how complex we are. It means we always have work to do and stories to tell.

Speaking of, I’ve written and edited dozens of stories (true and untrue). I’ve also written, hosted, produced, and executive produced hundreds of podcast episodes, collectively.

Yves looks at the camera intently while sitting behind a microphone in a podcast studio. She is wearing a shirt with an image of a Black woman meditating.

Work that I’ve co-created has been nominated for and won Webbys. Learn more about me and my work by reading my bio or listening to the track below.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that curiosity, awe, and compassion are my guides. I’ve gotten to know them much better through yoga, meditation, and nature, and they keep me studying, writing, and podcasting. I’m a much better person and artist because of them.
